Guess who will be performing at the Presidential Inauguration of 2021….
None other than Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez. These two musical queens are set to perform at this year’s inauguration ceremony for incoming US President, Joe Biden.
During the election, Lady Gaga campaigned for Mr Biden. Gaga was then seen with him on the eve of the presidential election last November. Take a look below.
In 2016, during his It's On Us initiative to fight campus sexual harassment, Lady Gaga also appeared with Mr Biden. In October, Lopez took part in a virtual chat with him.
On January 20th, at the ceremony Lady Gaga will sing the National Anthem while a separate performance will be held by Jennifer Lopez who also endorsed Mr. Biden last year.
Following the highly anticipated performances, Tom Hanks will then host a star-studded televised special set to air after the ceremony. The show doesn’t stop there, it must go on. With that being said, the 90-minute prime time program titled, “Celebrating America,” will feature performances by Jon Bon Jovi, Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake and Ant Clemons. This year’s inauguration will broadcast live from the following televised networks: ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and MSNBC.
According to Mr. Biden’s inaugural committee, this year’s ceremony will, “Celebrate the beginning of a new national journey toward an America united" and "showcase the American people's resilience, heroism, and unified commitment to coming together as a nation to heal and rebuild".
Unfortunately, when Mr. Biden is sworn in, Washington DC will still be under a state of emergency. This comes after a mob invaded the Capitol on January 6th, 2021.
There will be more than 10,000 troops in attendance from the National Guard in the region, with around 5,000 more on standby. Also, Donald Trump will become the first president to skip the inauguration of his successor since 1869. Sources state that the 45th president has declined his invitation after disputing the election result. Stay tuned to The Music Industry Report as the story develops.
