UPDATE: On Tuesday (January 12th), the Atlanta Police Department issued a warrant for the arrest of Rayshawn Bennett better known as YFN Lucci. After it was announced that police were hunting him as a part of an investigation, Lucci decided to turn himself in a day later.

Best known for his hit singles, “Everyday We Lit” and “Wet”, YFN Lucci is wanted for the murder of 28-year old James Adams on December 10th, 2020 after he was found lying in the street with a gun wound to the face. After turning himself in on Wednesday, Lucci’s mugshot began circulating the internet. He is currently being held in Fulton County Jail.
His attorney Thomas Reynolds told CNN : "The presumption of innocence is a fundamental constitutional right for every citizen.Beyond this, we have no further comment at this time."
Rayshawn Bennett, better known for his stage name as YFN Lucci, is facing felony murder and other charges. In current news, Atlanta murder detectives are asking the public for assistance in finding the 29-year-old rapper YFN Lucci.
Bennett is wanted on several charges, according to Atlanta Police Sgt. John Chafee. These charges are in connection with his suspected involvement in the December 10th, 2020 fatal shooting of 28-year-old, James Adams.
According to Chafee, police officers were dispatched at about 5:20 p.m. to a location in the 900 block of Peoples Street, S.W. After getting a call about a fired shot heard Thursday afternoon. Once Grady EMTs and Atlanta Fire Rescue arrived on the scene and rendered medical aid, Adams was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. Shortly after, he unfortunately passed away after suffering from his injuries.
A second survivor appeared a short time later. Kevin Wright. 32, arrived by private vehicle at Fire Station 14 after suffering a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Ultimately, Wright survived his wounds.
To kick off the investigation, Homicide investigators from the Atlanta Police responded to both locations. They were able to conclude that the two shootings were possibly linked over the course of their investigation, Chafee said. Ultimately, they found three suspects linked to the killings, he said. Two of the men, though Bennett remains at large, were apprehended.
According to Chafee, 17-year-old Leroy Pitts was apprehended and charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, participation in criminal street gang activity, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. While 23-year-old Ra'von Boyd was also apprehended. Boyd was charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, participation in criminal street gang activity, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Lastly, during the commission of an ongoing crime, Bennett faces charges of felony murder, aggravated assault, involvement in illegal street gang activity and possession of a weapon.
