lawmakers have introduced a new bill that would outlaw "virginity tests" throughout the state of New York.
According to TMZ, Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages, wants the process to be considered sexual abuse and placed as a classified D felony for doctors.
The implementation of the new law is a direct reaction to the T.I. controversy that occurred over this past month.
Solages told NY Post,
"I was horrified to see this was happening. If a celebrity can impose his power to ensure his 18-year-old daughter gets checked, imagine what can be done in households across New York state?"
Voting for the bill has not started yet but it is up for consideration.
T.I. spoke at the Red Table earlier this month with Jada Smith to explain exactly what happens when he visits his daughter's doctor appointments.
